What is the initiative?

Ace Hardware is changing the layout for EDI 856 (Advance Ship Notice) to include GS1-128 Shipping Label compliance.

Is Testing required?

Yes, Ace Hardware has been providing communication to their vendors with direction on testing.

For ASN testing, which Ace Hardware ASN should I use?

The ASN to use should reflect how your organization will ship the physical items to Ace Hardware. Pending how your organization ships, there are two ASNs that should be used:

  • 856 (4010 - 856 - Ship Notice/Manifest - Pick and Pack New)

Or

  • 856 (4010 - 856 - Ship Notice/Manifest - Pallet)

What is the Testing Process?

The ASN can be created from a test order issued by Ace Hardware or a current Purchase Order. The ASN will need to be sent in Test Mode in Transaction Manager. From there, please coordinate with Ace Hardware on feedback.

Check out this article to see how to change the transaction type.

Are UCC128 labels Required?

Yes, Ace Hardware is requiring UCC128 labels to be tested as well as part of this initiative. TrueCommerce does offer a Labeling Utility to generate UCC128 labels, if your organization does not own this; please contact your account manager.

If using Transaction Manager, UCC-128 label, please click here for more information.
