When you are reviewing your monthly billing statement, you might be left with several questions, like “How do I see my usage for the month?”, “Why am I being charged $99?”, or “What do all these fees mean?” In this article, we will break down how to interpret your usage and how to reach out for help with viewing your transaction details.
Understanding Your Usage
TrueCommerce calculates charges based on the volume of messages or transactions sent and received within the billing period. You can easily assess your usage by looking at the number of messages with which you have engaged.
Messages: If your statement shows that you have sent or received 50 messages, that indicates 50 transactions for that month.
Kilobytes (KBs) or Kilo-characters (KCs): Usage can also be measured in KB or KC. The size of each message varies according to the number of line items it contains. Generally, more line items mean larger messages, which in turn affect your invoice.
Best Practice: Regularly review your billing statement, compare it against your typical usage patterns, and reach out for clarification regarding any discrepancies or unusual fees.
How to View Your Data Usage for the Month
Understanding your monthly data usage is crucial for managing your bills effectively. Follow these steps on the Foundry platform to access your transaction details:
From the Foundry platform Menu, select Account Management > Transaction.
From the Transactions menu, select Usage. This will launch the workspace where you can examine your Transaction Usage.
Perform the following steps to assess your usage for the month:
Select the Transaction Date from/to by clicking on the calendar icons.
NOTE: By default, the current month’s period is loaded (e.g., from 10/13/2025 to 11/13/2025), but you can adjust this as needed.
Click the Load Usage Data button.
For example, the usage for a month (from 4/1/2025 to 5/1/2025) might include 1 transaction/1 line item/1 kilocharacter.
IMPORTANT: If you do not see Account Management in the primary navigation menu, your account may not have access to it. Check out this article on how to have your Administrator grant you access.
