Product: NetSuite

The Advance Ship Notice Type (ASN Type) is a setting within NetSuite added by the TrueCommerce Bundle that is required to info Transaction Manager how to structure your Item Fulfillment into a proper EDI Advance Ship Notice (856) based on the structure your Trading Partner requires.

Each Trading Partner will have their own requirements, and may even require you to send different structures based on how your Shipment is to be delivered.

Note: If the ASN Type is not set for your Item Fulfillment - Transaction Manager will fail to import an Advance Ship Notice (856) upon import.

ASN Type

The ASN Type can found on your Sales Order or Item Fulfillment under the TrueCommerce Tab - providing you with a dropdown selection for various ASN Structures

Navigate: Sales Order/Item Fulfillment → TrueCommerce

Select: ASN Type

Structures

The ASN Type is the overall structure that Transaction Manager will generate based on the selection.

Defaulting the ASN Type

Defaulting the ASN Type (NetSuite)

Since every Item Fulfillment requires an ASN Type you'll want to default the type in order for them to be properly available for Transaction Manager to import. You can do this by setting the Default ASN Type under your Customer Record within NetSuite

Navigate: Lists → Relationships → Customers → (Customer)

Select: TrueCommerce tab

Set: DEFAULT ASN TYPE

Defaulting the ASN Type (Transaction Manager)

Alternatively if you would like to set the ASN Type from Transaction Manager - you can do so by entering the ASN Type you'd like to use into the Default table provided.

Navigate: Trading Partners → (Partner) → Translations → Defaults

Enter: ASN Type (same as NetSuite Dropdown - case sensitive)
