Product: Integrations

If you're looking to change your Business System Integration from one to another, usually known as a Business System Migration, such as NetSuite to Acumatica or Dynamics GP to Dynamics 365 Business Central you will need to contact your Account Manager to discuss going through a re-implementation project.

Migrating a Business System

Migration of Business Systems require a new Implementation of the Transaction Manager platform for all Trading Partners including Integration Mappings, custom Logic, and re-configuring things such as Lookup Tables, Defaults, or Business System settings to meet the requirements of the new Business System.

Integration Mapping

When you begin switching from one Business System to the other you will need to be sure to work with your Implementation Specialist to ensure that any custom logic you have had built over the years is properly transferred.

While the Implementation Specialist will evaluate your current system's process, mappings, and logic not every Business System is exactly the same and logic that may of worked for one may need adjusted for another.

User Defined Fields & Business System Scripts

TrueCommerce often leverages User Defined Fields (UDFs) to pass custom EDI or Trading Partner specific data that otherwise does not have a home in a Business System - which often customers may use to run custom logic or a script within their Business System to accommodate a custom business process.

Be sure to evaluate with your System Administrator or Value Added Reseller (VAR) on any custom EDI-based logic that may be running outside the scope of TrueCommerce to ensure that this behavior can be mimicked on the new system.

Lookup Tables, Defaults, and Catalogs

While TrueCommerce can migrate certain aspects of your data from your existing Transaction Manager settings, such as Lookups, Defaults, Address Catalog, and Item Catalog - each Business System is configured differently meaning you may need to reconfigure these tables to match with new item codes, new address codes, or translated values.

Integration Framework Settings

If you're utilizing a Framework Integration such as Acumatica, NetSuite, or Dynamics 365 Business Central for example you may be leveraging special built in Transaction Manager settings specific to that Integration (Framework Settings) that may not have an equivalent on the new business system depending on what that system allows.

TrueCommerce often keeps parity across common settings - but if you have had any special Integration Framework Settings added to your Transaction Manager for your current Business System that functionality may not exist on the new one. Be sure to discuss this with your Implementation Specialist or Account Manager prior to migrating.

Switching Between Business Systems

During the Migration process you will be able to continue to use your old Business System as needed by switching between the new configuration and the old one.

This process allows you to continue to configure, test, and process transactions as needed across both systems as the migration occurs.
