Trading Partner: 7 Eleven

7 Eleven is one of the world's largest convenience store chains and a widely connected Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) trading partner. To begin receiving and processing Purchase Orders from 7 Eleven through Transaction Manager, you must first complete the required setup and compliance testing outlined in this guide.

Before testing can begin, your Partner List and Item Catalog must be configured in Transaction Manager to ensure 7 Eleven's orders are correctly identified and routed to your business system.

EDI IDs

7-Eleven utilizes the following Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) IDs for identification purposes. These EDI IDs are made up of a Qualifier and an ID which will be sent within their Interchange Control Header, ISA segment, on your inbound transactions. This allows Transaction Manager to be able to identify the Sender and Receiver of any EDI transaction that is sent or received.

Below is a list of the most common EDI IDs typically used by 7-Eleven:

7-Eleven will expect a specific EDI ID based on your business relationship with them. Selecting the wrong EDI ID will result in EDI Transactions not being sent or received.

You will need to work with 7-Eleven to determine the proper EDI ID to use.

Preliminary Steps

Before TrueCommerce is able to begin onboarding 7-Eleven into Transaction Manager, you will need to complete the following setup to kick off your Trading Partner Implementation Project:

  • Partner List – The Partner List associates 7-Eleven in Transaction Manager with the Customer ID or IDs within your business system. This must be configured before testing can begin.

  • Item Catalog – The Item Catalog must be set up to include all items and cross-references (item translations) for your business system to TrueCommerce. This ensures 7-Eleven's item data is correctly mapped to your inventory.

Direct Trading Partner Testing

7-Eleven requires you to complete compliance testing before Go-Live. During this phase, your Implementation Specialist will work with you and 7-Eleven to send test transactions, confirm connection setup, and validate that all transactions are approved for production.

If you prefer, TrueCommerce can conduct and complete compliance testing on your behalf.

Next Steps

Once the purchase of the 7-Eleven plug-in is complete, your Implementation Specialist will reach out to schedule time to complete and/or coordinate a plan for compliance testing and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system integration testing.
