Successful EDI implementations require collaboration between your team and TrueCommerce. Below, you will find guidelines and resources to help ensure a smooth experience.

Prerequisites to Successful Onboarding

At the time of requesting a new Trading Partner, you were asked to provide some critical information to get your project started. See below for the list of requirements and best practices that will help speed up your project.

Validate internal and Trading Partner readiness

  • Designate a primary project point of contact and validate that your team is aligned on project scope, timelines, and resources

  • Ensure your point-of-contact is familiar with Foundry

  • Ensure your Trading Partner is ready for implementation

Submit required inputs (Have readily available at the start of your project)

  • Customer vendor number

  • Customer EDI qualifier

  • Trading Partner’s EDI ID

  • Helpful context (optional):

    • Trading Partner vendor portal testing login credentials (if applicable)

    • Preferred connection method (AS2, VAN, FTP/SFTP, API, etc.)

    • Testing deadlines

    • Any mapping specifications or recent communications by the Trading Partner

    • Trading Partner contact details

    • Recent communication confirming readiness for testing

NOTE: TrueCommerce may place a project on hold if customer responses are not received after multiple outreach attempts or if delays are caused by the customer or their Trading Partners. During the on-hold period, all applicable monthly subscription fees will continue to apply. Projects that remain inactive for more than 60 days may require payment of a reactivation fee before work can be resumed.

Trading Partner Onboarding Timeline

Standard Trading Partner add-ons are completed within 2–4 business weeks, depending on partner requirements and your readiness. A TrueCommerce Implementation Specialist will work with you throughout the process. Trading Partners new to the TrueCommerce network may require additional business days for initial mapping. We will advise if this applies.

Trading Partner Setup (1–2 business days)

  • TrueCommerce team review of partner specifications, map required EDI documents, and set up communication channels (AS2, VAN, FTP/SFTP, API)

Testing (5–10 business days)

  • Implementation Specialist assignment, complete compliance testing, validate ERP integration (if applicable), and resolve errors or mapping issues

Go Live & Hypercare (3–5 business days)

  • Final validation, move to Production, assistance with live orders

Post Go-Live Support (ongoing)

  • Submit non-critical Support Cases through the Foundry > Account Management portal (AMP). See this article to guide you on how to contact Support.

  • Training is available through TrueCommerce University (Learn how to access training)

  • 24x7x365 access to Truedi chatbot support in Foundry
