Product: Dynamics GP (Enterprise)

Occasionally you may be required to consolidate your shipments for multiple orders into a single Advance Ship Notice (ASN) - this is known as an Consolidated ASN.

This allows your operations to save on shipping by combining multiple locations onto the same truck when they leave your warehouse as they're all heading to the same location (whether that's their final destination of the Ship To, or a pit stop at a Distribution Center)

Note: In order to consolidate - you need to have the same Ship To or Distribution Center information marked for all your orders

Consolidating Ship-To Addresses

In order to consolidate your Sales Transaction you need to make sure that every order you wish to consolidate has a matching Ship To Address on the Sales Entry itself otherwise it will not be valid for consolidation.

Consolidating By DC

Sometimes you may need to consolidate your ASNs based on the Distribution Code (DC) instead of the Ship To Code (which is by default).

In order to consolidate by DC you'll need to enter a DC Location ID into your Location-Cross Reference. You'll need to have every Location ID have a matching DC Location ID in order for it to be considered valid for consolidation based on DC.

Packing the ASN

In order to consolidate - you will need to have your Orders open and ready to be packed.

Navigate: ASN Main β†’ (Set Customer ID) β†’ Process β†’ Build Shipments β†’ Pack

Check: Each Order from within the list of the Pack Documents window that you wish to consolidate

Select: The More button (if need be) and you'll see options at the bottom of the window for additional packaging options.

Check: Auto-Pack and Auto-ASN

Select: Shipment Type Option and set it to Multiple Orders per ASN

Configuring the Pack for Consolidation

Note: You may need to select the More button to expand the options for consolidation

Viewing the Shipment

Once you've Packed the shipment you will now find your consolidated ASN within the ASN Main window - with multiple orders listed under it
