Product: Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations
When your Trading Partner requires batch lot tracking or License Plate Number data on the outbound Inventory Inquiry/Advice (846), this information is not included in the catalog export by default. To enable it, two separate areas within Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations must be configured: the Catalog Query and the Catalog Engine Parameters.
The Catalog Query controls which inventory dimensions — such as Batch Identifier and License Plate Identifier — are used when summarizing quantities for the catalog. The Catalog Engine Parameters control whether batch information is suppressed or included in the outbound file. Both settings must be aligned for batch and license plate data to appear correctly in your exported catalog.
Catalog Query
To include Batch Identifier and/or License Plate Identifier data in the catalog, add the corresponding fields to the Quantity Summary criteria within your Catalog Query setup.
Navigate: EDI Module → Accounts Receivable → Setup → Catalog Queries
Add: inventBatchId (Batch Identifier) and/or LicensePlateId (License Plate Identifier) to the Quantity Summary criteria
Add either or both fields depending on what your Trading Partner requires for their Inventory Inquiry/Advice (846).
Catalog Engine Parameters
After updating the Catalog Query, ensure the Exclude Batch Info parameter is configured to allow batch data to flow through to the catalog. By default, this parameter may suppress batch data — setting it to Do Not Use disables the exclusion and allows batch information to appear in the outbound catalog export.
Navigate: EDI Module → Accounts Receivable → Cross References → Company/ Customer Cross Reference → Outbound → Catalog Types
Select: Engine Parameters
Add: the Exclude Batch Info parameter
Set: Value to Do Not Use
Setting "Exclude Batch Info" to "Do Not Use" disables the exclusion, allowing batch information to be included in your catalog. Leaving this parameter unset or set to any other value will suppress batch data from the outbound Inventory Inquiry/Advice (846).
