Error: Posting Date deviates from the defined range. To complete the operation, define the posting period to match the entered Posting Date.

Issue: Whenever attempting to export out an inbound Purchase Order (850) from your Trading Partner, you receive the error: 'Posting Date deviates from the defined range. To complete the operation, define the posting period to match the entered Posting Date'

Reason: Your Fiscal Year within SAP is setup to allow only a specific range of dates to be posted - the date your Trading Partner has sent you is not within this range.

Note: This most commonly occurs during the new year switch as posting periods haven't been update yet.

You'll need to update your Posting Periods to ensure that the Document Dates and Due Dates fall within the appropriate period being passed by your Trading Partner.

Navigate: Administration → System Initialization → Posting Periods
