Order Types within the Customer Cross Reference allows you to customize how a specific Inbound Purchase Order (850) handles the processing when being received into Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
Order types such as SA, DS, NE, SP, KN, RE and N are automatically setup under the System Cross References
You can override those types under the Company or Customer Levels
Accessing the Order Types
Your Order Types are configured per-Trading Partner and can be found within the Customer Cross Reference for the specified partner.
Navigate: EDI → Accounts Receivable → Cross References → Customer Cross References
Select: Desired Customer Cross-Reference
Select: Inbound tab
Order Types can be configured at the Company or System Level if preferred to make these changes apply beyond just a single Trading Partner
Creating/Modifying the Order Type
Once inside the Customer Cross Reference you can use the Order Types group located under the Inbound tab to either create a new Order Type or modify an existing.
To Create
Select: New
Order Type Code: Set the appropriate Order Type Code based off of the Purchase Order Type (BEG02) sent by your Trading Partner

Modifying
To configure the Order Type you can select the desired entry you wish to modify and hit the Details button to begin modifying the selection's settings.

Once inside the Details panel you can begin adjusting how you would like Finance and Operations to handle the order types you've received.

The Sales Order group defines
Order Type Code
The 2-Digit Code that matches the EDI Purchase Order Type (BEG02) sent by your Trading Partner
Description
Short description to detail your Order Type
On Receipt of this Order Type
Alert Options that can either prevent the Document from Process through a hard-stop style Error or produce a soft-pass with a Warning message upon receiving an Order of this type.

Pre-Mapping Workflow
If you would like to activate a Pre-Mapping Workflow for this particular Order Type you can set one here - this will activate prior to the Mapping of the EDI Transaction against your order type within Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
You must uncheck 'Default' to be able to edit this field
If 'Default' is selected - this Order Type will use the matching Order Type's Pre-Mapping Workflow from the System/Company level (if present)
Inbound Order Map
If you would like to active an Inbound Order Map to control the Field Mappings for this particular Order Type between the EDI Transactional Data and Finance and Operations business system fields.
Typically you would want to set this to the appropriate Map ID based on the type of data your Trading Partner is sending you - such as an Inbound 4010 - 850 Map for a Purchase Order (850) - v4010
You must uncheck 'Default' to be able to edit this field
If 'Default' is selected - this ORder Type will use the matching Order Type's Inbound Order Map from the System/Company level (if present)
ERP Document Creation
Document Type

Status
Currently the only option is Open Order - which indicates this is an Open Sales Order upon receipt.

Auto Create Customers
When enabled - will automatically create a new Customer Card within Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations if the order is marked for an individual who does not already exist.

This feature is often used for Dropship style customers which per-customer tracking is expected compared to the Retailer or Store information.

Duplicate PO Number
When processing the order - the TrueCommerce Extension will check the Purchase Order # provided by your Trading Partner on the inbound Purchase Order (850) to determine if this number has already been used by this Trading Partner.

This only checks against the same Trading Partner - multiple Trading Partners with the same Purchase Order # will not trigger an error/warnings
Duplicate PO Max. Days
The number of days to check against when utilizing the Duplicate PO Number functionality allowing a threshold to be set in which any matching Purchase Order already processed with the same Purchase Order # must be equal or less than the Max Days set.
Invalid Delivery Dates
Leverages the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Delivery Date Validation settings that checks to ensure realistic lead times are possible based on Finance and Operation settings.

Do Not Adjust Dates or Report | Skips Validation entirely |
Configuration of Valid Delivery Date is beyond the scope of TrueCommerce - this setting simply activates an error check or warning against those Date Validations
Acknowledgements
The Acknowledgements section determines how received orders will handle responding with a Purchase Order Acknowledgement (855)
Acknowledgement Schedule ID
The Acknowledgement Schedule ID to use for this Order Type.

Consolidate Acknowledgments by PO Number
Consolidate by PO Number setting allows you to bundle your Purchase Order Acknowledgements (855) into a single outgoing consolidated transaction if the Purchase Order # matches from

Amount/Percent
Determines the Price Tolerance Amount or Percentage that should be used when comparing the inbound Item Price from your Trading Partner against the Item Pricing listed within Finance and Operations

Price Tolerance
The Amount or Percent decimal (based on the Amount/Percent dropdown setting) that will be used to compare on Item Pricing.
If Amount is set on the Amount/Percent setting - represents total dollar amount
If Percent is on the Amount/Percent setting - represents a percentage (e.g. 10%)
Items and Item Pricing
The Items and Item Pricing section configures how Items should be processed for this particular Order Type
Pricing Method
The Pricing Method determines how your inbound Purchase Orders (850) will determine which Item Prices to use when creating your order within Finance and Operations.

Price Conflict Comparison
Price Verification that will compare the Pricing between what your Trading Partner has sent on the inbound Purchase Order (850) and what is listed within your Inventory Item setup.

Qty. Reservation
Determines how Item Quantities will be allocated for this Order Type.

Manual | Quantities must be allocated manually after creation of the Order within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations |
Automatic | Quantities are allocated automatically according to how they are defined within Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations |
Split Subline Items
Determines how Subline Items that are received as part of a Kit will be processed. When Enabled will process each "Subline" Item (Component of the Kit) as an individual Line Entry. When Disable ignores Subline Items and only processes the Parent Item.
