Product: Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations

A Sales Order within Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations is created by exporting an Inbound Purchase Order (850) from your Trading Partner within Transaction Manager.

Exporting from Transaction Manager

Whenever an Inbound Purchase Order (850) is received from your Trading Partner it will arrive within the Inbox inside of the Transactions screen within Transaction Manager.

You will first need to Export it so that Transaction Manager can generate the necessary XML File for Dynamics 365 For Finance and Operations to read.

Processing The Inbound Sales Order Mailbox in Finance and Operations

Once your Purchase Order has exported out of Transaction Manager you will need to process it within Finance and Operations utilizing the Inbound Sales Order Mailbox.

Navigate: Modules β†’ EDI β†’ Accounts Receivable β†’ Import β†’ Inbound Sales Order Mailbox

Inbound Sales Order Mailbox

The Inbound Sales Order Mailbox acts as an Mailbox for all Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) your Inbound Sales Orders for from your Trading Partners - providing a single place for you to see all the Sales Orders you have received from your EDI Partners via Transaction Manager.

Processing Sales Orders

When you enter the Inbound Sales Order Mailbox you will have a list of EDI Transactions that have been received from Transaction Manager into Finance and Operations waiting to be processed. Through the Import process you can bring the EDI Transaction into the Account Receivables module inside Finance and Operations as a Sales Order.

Importing

Select: The desired EDI Transaction to process

Select: Import

Successful Import

Any Successfully Imported EDI Transactions will have their Status marked as Complete and the Created Document column filled in with a hyperlinked Sales Order # that was created within Finance and Operations.

You can click the hyperlinked Created Document # to have the system automatically open the Sales Order for you

Errors or Warnings

If the EDI Transactions encountered any warnings or errors then the Disposition column will be marked with a Warning or Error status. You can view the Warning/Error Messages through the Message Details page.
