The Unknown Trading Partners screen is a special type of Inbound Mailbox that captures any Inbound Message that failed to be identified as a Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations customer
Within the Unknown Trading Partners screen you can view the Trading Partner code sent from Transaction Manager, the Status, and EDI Document Type (850, 945, etc.)
It's always useful to check this screen if you are failing to see your Inbound Purchase Orders (850s) from being received into your regular Inbound Sales Order Mailbox or similar mailbox.
Accessing Unknown Trading Partners
Navigate: Modules → EDI → Accounts Receivable → Import → Unknown Trading Partners
Viewing XML Data
You can find the generated XML data that is created whenever Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations first processes the data sent from Transaction Manager which is produced through the usage of your XQuery Inbound Map by selecting the XML option found under the View group
Navigation
Navigate: Messages → View
Select: XML
Viewing XML
Once the XML view is open you will see all the XML Nodes generated by the XQuery Inbound Map which takes the Raw EDI from the EDI ASV and turns it into a human-readable format for convenience.
While you can edit the XML directly within the Unknown Trading Partner screen - modifying the ClientCode will not update the Trading Partner.
You will need to update the data within your Partner Setup and re-export out the Transaction within Transaction Manager
Viewing EDI Data
You can view the Raw EDI data that was sent from Transaction Manager in order to help you diagnose what data your Trading Partner has sent in its raw form utilizing the the EDI ASV option found under the View group.
Navigation
Navigate: Messages → View
Select: EDI ASV
Viewing EDI
Once the EDI ASV is open you will see the details about your EDI Transaction listed in its Raw EDI format providing you with access to the EDI Segments and Elements sent by your Trading Partner for review prior to any conversion from the XML view.
