Product: Transaction Manager

The Transaction Manager platform has built in support for Flat Files (XML,CSV,TXT, etc.) that allows data to be transformed between your file type of choice and the the raw EDI data that your Trading Partner sends/receives.

The Import and Export paths located within your Business System settings are used to determine where Transaction Manager will locate or create those files during an Import or an Export operation.

Changing Your Import / Export Directories

Each Company you have created within Transaction Manager has its own set of Import/Export paths. You can change them within the Business System settings within Transaction Manager.

Navigate: Business System β†’ (Company Name) β†’ Company Configuration β†’ System Setup

Note: By default this screen is brought up when selecting your Company Name.

Import Path

The Import Path is used for all Outbound imports that occur within the Outbox of Transaction Manager.

Import File Selection

The Import File Selection options provides you with

Option

Description

Ask On Import

Will bring up a Windows File Selection dialogue box allowing you to specify which files to select

Import All Files in Directory

Automatically imports all files within directory - unprompted

Ask On Import - Network Path

Same as above - useful for machines older than Windows 10/11 when utilizing a UNC/Network Path

Import All Files in Directory - Network Path

Same as above - useful for machines older than Windows 10/11 when utilizing a UNC/Network Path

Note: If you're utilizing a single install of the Advanced Integration Service (V2) known as as a Scheduler Machine - any client workstation that selects Import with the Ask On Import option selected will prompt the Scheduler Machine to select a file and the client will not have the ability to do so

Please configure the setting to Import All Files in Directory to allow the Client Workstations to perform Flat File based Imports remotely.

Export Path

The Export Path is used for all Inbound exports that occur from within your Inbox within Transaction Manager

Local Paths, Network Paths, and IP Addresses

Whenever configuring your Import/Export Path you will need to keep in mind that this is a Global Configuration and all users will share it across the Transaction Manager platform.

Users leveraging the Scheduler Machine's Service ID to perform processing will not require access to these paths as all paths will be relative to the installed Integration Service from the Scheduler Machine.

Local Paths

Whenever utilizing a Local Path (C:\Program Files (x86)\True Commerce\Transacation Manager) all users that have the Integration Service installed must have the same local path

Network Paths

If utilizing a Network Path such as a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path (\\server\Transaction Manager) you will need to ensure all users have full permissions to Read/Write and access that path without needing to enter a User/Password.

Transaction Manager cannot enter user-credentials to a networked path and often this can result in the Transaction Manager platform being blocked throwing the windows error:

Access to the path "xxx" is denied.

Mapped Network Drives

You can help mitigate this issue by utilizing a Mapped Network Drive within Windows. By creating a Mapped Network drive you can configure the drive with User Credentials and enable the Reconnect at sign-in option to automatically have that drive logged into upon the user logging in

Note: This is outside of TrueCommerce support - and will need to be performed by your I.T Department

When utilizing this method - after a Restart the user must log in at least once before Transaction Manager can access this drive.

IP Addresses

We do not recommend using an external IP Address (92.28.211.xxx) with Transaction Manager paths - the added latency is known to cause connectivity issues. It is recommended to use a Local Path or a Network Path (via Mapped Drive) instead.
