Product: Sage 100

Every Custom Field within Sage 100 has a specific Character Limit that is applied. TrueCommerce has configured our User-Defined Fields with specific EDI X12 Standards in mind.

However if you need to increase the Character Limit for a field for a custom business solution you can do so easily by modifying the Maximum Length attribute located within the User-Defined Field Field Maintenance screen.

You will need to have all other users logged out of Sage 100 before adjusting fields to avoid issues.

Increasing the User Defined Character Fields

You can increase the Maximum Length field of any TrueCommerce User-Defined field within a Sales Order Entry by utilizing the User-Defined Field and Table Maintenance within the Custom Office module.

Navigate: Custom Office β†’ User-Defined Field and Table Maintenance

Find: Sales Order β†’ SO Sales Order Header

Right Click: Edit Fields

Locate: Desired Field

Double Click

Adjust: Maximum Length

Select: OK

Updating Table

Once your changes are made - selecting OK will return you back to the SO Sales Order Head Table list where you will need to update the table. When you begin updating you will be prompted with a dialogue box asking "Do you want to update the data dictionary and UDF data files for the SO Sales Order Header table?" - select yes.

Select: Update (bottom right)

Select: Yes
