215 - Motor Carrier Pickup Manifest

FUNCTIONAL GROUP=UP

This X12 Transaction Set contains the format and establishes the data contents of the Motor Carrier Pickup Manifest Transaction Set (215) for use within the context of an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment. This transaction set can be used to allow shippers, or other parties, to provide a motor carrier with a manifest of all of the shipments tendered to a carrier. It is not to be used to provide a motor carrier with data relative to a load tender, legal bill of lading, pickup notification, or appointment scheduling.

Loop 0100 shall provide the ship-from name and address location and any relevant reference numbers. The ship-to locations are transmitted in loop 0220.

The X1 segment is used to provide export license information relative to the party named in the N1 segment.

The X2 segment is used to provide import license information relative to the party named in the N1 segment.

The SMD segment is used to provide the primary service level (for example ground, air, two day) and shipment method of payment for all of the packages (shipments) contained in each iteration of the loop. The individual package detail and any additional service requirements are transmitted in loop 0240.

Loop 0220 shall be used to provide the ship-to name and address as well as other related parties to the shipment with the exception of the ship-from which is transmitted in loop 0100.

Loop 0240 provides data, including all bar coded carrier or shipper assigned package identification numbers, relative to each individual package.

Loop 250 shall be used to provide additional delivery locations within the ship-to transmitted loop in Loop ID 220, for example a department, or a ship-to name and address if loop 220 is not used."
