Dot Foods is a leading food redistribution company and a commonly onboarded Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Trading Partner within the TrueCommerce network. Establishing an EDI connection with Dot Foods enables the seamless electronic exchange of business documents — such as Purchase Orders and Invoices — between your organization and theirs via Transaction Manager.
Before TrueCommerce can begin onboarding Dot Foods, a few preliminary steps must be completed on your end to initiate the implementation project. The sections below cover EDI identification details, compliance testing expectations, commonly used transaction types, and next steps following your plug-in purchase.
EDI IDs
Dot Foods utilizes the following Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) IDs for identification purposes. These EDI IDs are made up of a Qualifier and an ID which will be sent within their Interchange Control Header, ISA segment, on your inbound transactions. This allows Transaction Manager to be able to identify the Sender and Receiver of any EDI transaction that is sent or received.
Below is a list of the most common EDI IDs typically used by Dot Foods:
X12 Qualifier | EDI ID | Primary ID? |
08 | 9288030000 | Yes |
ZZ | DOTFDSEET | No |
ZZ | DOTFDSEE | No |
08 | DOTFDSEE | No |
ZZ | 9288030000 | No |
ZZ | DOTFOODS | No |
Dot Foods will expect a specific EDI ID based on your business relationship with them. Selecting the wrong EDI ID will result in EDI Transactions not being sent or received.
You will need to work with Dot Foods to determine the proper EDI ID to use.
