Trading Partner: Walmart

If you are looking to implement Walmart as a new Trading Partner within your EDI network, this article will provide you with an understanding of the requirements, preliminary and next steps, as well as commonly used transaction types.

EDI IDs

Walmart utilizes the following Electronic Data Interface (EDI) IDs for identification purposes. These EDI IDs are made up of a Qualifier and an ID which will be sent within their Interchange Control Header, ISA segment, on your inbound transactions. This allows Transaction Manager to be able to identify the Sender and Receiver of any EDI transaction that is sent or received.

Below is a list of the most common EDI IDs typically used by Walmart:

Walmart will expect a specific EDI ID based on your business relationship with them. Selecting the wrong EDI ID will result in EDI Transactions not being sent or received.

You will need to work with Walmart to determine the proper EDI ID to use.

Preliminary Steps

Before TrueCommerce is able to begin onboarding Walmart into Transaction Manager, you will need to perform the following actions to kick off your Trading Partner Implementation Project

Gaining Access

  • Walmart Requires you to have access to their Global Enterprise Mailbox (GEM) within their online portal, Retail Link.

  • Login: Click here to launch Retail Link and login to the portal.

  • Create: An Account or login to Retail Link as an Administrator Account and access the Global Enterprise Mailbox (GEM).

  • Select: Apps > Filter to EDI-B2B > Select EDI-B2B > Select Global Enterprise Mailbox.

  • Select: Certificate Maintenance from the dropdown menu within the Mailbox section.

  • Select: EDINT AS2 and enter the following details:

  • AS2 name needs to be: Your entire EDI ID, including the Qualifier and ISA (ex. 122818210817)

You will need to reach out to Walmart Support for assistance at 479-273-8888.

Certificate Exchange

  • Configure: Your GEM mailbox and then TrueCommerce will provide you with a public certificate file (.pub) for exchange within the mailbox.

  • Navigate: To Mailbox Maintenance > mark Walmart & Vendor Certificate as active.

  • Upload: the certificate provided by TrueCommerce

  • Select Exchange.

  • Locate: The newly exchanged certificate and share it with your TrueCommerce Implementation Specialist.

If preferred: The TrueCommerce Implementation Specialist will be able to assist you through this process via a scheduled call with a member of the Implementation Support team.
