Product: NetSuite

Setting: Item Sync Value

The Item Sync Value allows you to control how Transaction Manager will locate item information within NetSuite. While Internal Id is the recommended default - if your company prefers you can modify the settings to perform an Item Search based on the Display Name, Item Id, or UPC Code.

Internal Id (Recommended)

When set to Internal Id Transaction Manager will pass the Item's Internal ID directly to NetSuite requiring no additional lookup or searches allowing the integration to perform efficiently.

This is the recommended setting - as it is the most efficient way to search NetSuite, greatly increasing overall speed

Display Name

When set to Display Name the system will perform a cross reference to pull the proper Internal Id by doing an Item Search based on the Display Name/Code within NetSuite

Item Id

When set to Item Id the system will perform a cross reference to pull the proper Internal Id by doing an Item Search based on the Item Name/Number within NetSuite

UPC Code

When set to UPC Code the system will perform a cross reference to pull the proper Internal Id by doing an Item Search on the UPC Code within NetSuite.

Performance Concerns

While it is possible to utilize your Item Name, UPC Code, or Display Name to pass information from Transaction Manager to NetSuite for ease of use - this does reduce performance as each Item will require an Item Search to occur in order to pull the Internal Id from NetSuite automatically (rather than being predefined within Transaction Manager's Item Catalog) allowing you to easily pass the UPC Code or Vendor Item # provided by your Trading Partner for example.

However since these settings will result in that Item Search, this does reduce efficiency by requiring an additional query out to NetSuite per-item. Large transactions may suffer from loss of speed from these settings.
