Product: Transaction Manager

While the Transaction Manager platform takes your raw EDI data and presents it in an easy to follow form that groups data by its purpose - this form is unique to TrueCommerce and your Trading Partners will not be able to communicate efficiently without referencing the original EDI data.

If you're not familiar with EDI standards, and its many Segments and Elements this can lead to a disconnect when attempting to communicate in traditional EDI terms. Thankfully Transaction Manager provides an easy way for you to match up the raw EDI with the form.

Viewing Raw EDI

Since Trading Partners only see the raw EDI passed to them - it's good to reference the Raw EDI to view EDI Data that makes up the Transaction Form

You can view the EDI either from the Transaction Folders or after opening a Transaction by using the View Raw EDI option. of the selected/opened transaction.

Navigate: View โ†’ Raw EDI

While the EDI Data is accurate to what your Trading Partner has sent, or will receive (in case of outbound transactions) it's important to note that the data viewed within Transaction Manager may be formatted in a manner not familiar with your Trading Partner.

Transaction Manager formats data to keep a consistency - but each Trading Partner often have unique formatting that gets applied outside of Transaction Manager to meet their requirements.

Viewing EDI Elements of a Form

Since Transaction Manager's form is composed of all the Raw EDI for the Transaction, you may often want to know specifically which piece of the form represents which Segment/Element from within the Raw EDI.

To do this - you can simply open the Search panel from within the Transaction, and then using your mouse hover over any of the forms to have the Segment, Element, and if relevant, Qualifier data appear.

Navigate: Search

Hover: Over field with your cursor

EDI Often uses 'Codes' to represent data - whenever possible Transaction Manager will use the Trading Partner's specifications to cross-reference a code (often 2 or 3 characters) and convert it to the full name displayed on the form.

In this example - BEG01 is marked as 'Original' in the form but would show as '00' within the Raw EDI since that is the code that represents the value 'Original' from the Trading Partner

Searching by Data Value

If you know the value of a particular Segment/Element you're looking for - but not the Segment/Element itself you can easily use the Data Search option to look for all matching values.

Navigate: Search

Select: Data Search

Enter: Desired value to search

Searching by EDI Segment & Element

If you know the EDI Segment/Element that you need to reference, you can easily use the EDI Segment/Element Search option to quickly jump Transaction Manager to that field - highlighting it green in the process.

Navigate: Search

Select: EDI Segment/Element Search

Enter: Segment and Element

Some forms share the same Segment/Element - and are only differentiated by their Qualifier - in these cases you may need to use the 'Find Next' option to identify exactly which version you are seeking
