Product: Dynamics GP (Standard/Advance)

Error: Decimal Places passed in on QUANTITY does not match what is set up for the Item Number

Issue: Whenever receiving a Sales Order (850) into GP - you receive the error stating the Decimal Places passed in on QUANTITY does not match what is set up for the Item Number.

Reason: Whenever a Trading Partner sends an item, typically the quantity comes in a specific format (usually a whole number or an integer) - such as 8.

However, inside Dynamics GP your Item is setup to have quantity as a different decimal place, be it 0, 2, or 8 decimal places. You'll need to match up your item with your partner or convert the format with Mapping Manager as Dynamics GP will not accept a differing decimal place.

The Quick Fix

Navigate: Cards β†’ Inventory β†’ Items

Match: Quantity Decimals against data being received by your partner

Note: If you open a Sales Entry for this Trading Partner - and you see your Quantity has a decimal place in it, you can count the zeros after the decimal to easily see how many places your system expects.
