Product: Integrations
Any Integrated Solution with Transaction Manager be it a Flat File or a Framework Connection comes with the added benefit of Lookup Tables allowing for customization of your integrations allowing custom data translation within the Integration Logic.
Lookup Tables only work for Transactions that are processed through an Integrated Path
Transaction that are Turned Around will not be able to leverage Lookups
Each Integration has its own unique collection of Lookups built custom to either your Business Process or for your Business System.
Lookups
A Lookup Table (also known as a Translation Table) allows the converting of data from one value to another either for the entire Company or per-Trading Partner to ensure that both your Business System and your Trading Partner are receiving the data in the format specific to your/their process.
These Translations occur during an Import or an Export operation transforming the data from one value to another, whether that's to convert an EDI code into human-readable format, or to adjust a Shipping Method based on the Carrier, or to assign a Warehouse based on a Ship From Location each Lookup Table allows you to adjust the data through a logical cross-reference table.
Lookup Tables are deployed either at the Company level or the Trading Partner level specifically. The dropdown allows you to select each Lookup Table within Transaction Manager to be configured.
Partner Level Lookups
Lookup Tables created at the Trading Partner Level will appear for each Trading Partner allowing you to configure each Lookup uniquely based on each Trading Partner's needs
Navigate: Trading Partners → (Partner) → Translations

Lookup Table Columns
Each Lookup Table is composed of Two Columns which will have a unique name for each Lookup Table as appropriate for the design of the desired translation - the Left Column represents the data that interacts with your Business System while the Right Column is the data that interacts with Transaction Manager.
Lookup Tables are ambiguous in that they work both on the Import and the Export by converting data from one side of the column to the either based on the direction of the Transaction (Import vs Export). This means that data being translated will go from Left to Right when importing and will go Right to Left when exporting.
Operation | Flow |
Import | Left → Right |
Export | Right → Left |
Left Column - Business System
The Left Column reflects either the data coming from or going to your Business System. So when configuring your Lookup you will want to ensure that the first (left) column reflects the data that is ultimately going to reflect within your Business System or Flat File.
During an Import all data is converted from your Business System (left) into Transaction Manager (right). Resulting in a Left to Right flow.
Right Column - Transaction Manager
The Right Column reflects the data that is within Transaction Manager.
During an Export data is pushed from Transaction Manager (right) and converted into the Business System (left) value. Resulting in a Right to Left flow.
Lookup Tables can be created and configured by the TrueCommerce Support team - if you need additional Lookups from the standard provided please submit a support case
