Setting: Next Document Number


The Next Document Number setting found within Transaction Manager allows you to control the sequential configuration of how the system will create the Document Number within Dynamics 365 Business Central for your Sales Orders, Transfer Orders, or Sales Quotes

This setting is tracked on the Transaction Manager side - and will automatically increment as Purchase Orders (850) are processed


Next Document Number Setting


Company Wide Setting

You can configure the Company Setting which will affect all Trading Partners through the Integration Options within the Business System Settings.

Navigate: Business System β†’ (Company) β†’ Company Configuration β†’ Integration Options

Group: Sales β†’ Next Document Number

Uncheck: Empty (to enable)

Set: Prefix and Number as desired

Check to disable Next Document Number allowing Business Central to control the Document Numbering

Prefix (Checkbox)

Check to enable a prefix

Prefix (Textbox)

Prefix to add to every Document Number

Number

The number to start your sequential numbering from (numeric only)

The Number Field will automatically update for every successful export - as such will always represent the "Next Number" to be used
