Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations - [ERROR] Customer "xxx" is already in use

Product: Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations


Issue: When utilizing the New Partner Wizard or Customer Cross Reference you receive the following error 'Customer "xxx" is already in use'.

Reason: A Customer Cross Reference already exists for the defined Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations Custom Account selected.

Solution - Use a Different Customer Account


In order to prevent duplicate/conflicting entries you can only utilize the Customer Account for a single Customer Cross Reference. You will need to select a different Customer Account if you're attempting to create a new Customer Cross Reference

Solution - Edit the Existing Customer Cross Reference


Alternatively - you can simply modify the existing Customer Cross Reference found within the Customer Cross Reference section of the EDI Module from TrueCommerce.
