Product: Dynamics 365 Business Central

Issue: When attempting to perform an Import/Export you are met with a '401 Unauthorized' error.

Reason: Transaction Manager is unable to access Dynamics 365 Business Central due to the user that has been configured within the Integration Setting being invalid.

Solution - Log Into an Appropriate Microsoft Account

Transaction Manager utilizes a company Microsoft Account associated with Dynamics 365 Business Central - this user needs to be logged into the Integration Settings granting Transaction Manager access through that user.

Navigate: Transaction Manager β†’ Integration Settings

Select: Sign in with Microsoft

Enter: Credentials (if prompted)

NOTE: You may need to disable your browser pop-up blocker as it may prevent the log-in window from displaying.

Solution - Update User Permissions

Transaction Manager uses the permission set granted to the User that is logged into the Integration Settings within Transaction Manager. If you continue to receive a '401 Unauthorized' error despite logging in then most likely the user you've logged in as does not have the proper credentials to access all screens that Transaction Manager interacts with.

Add TRCADDON

If the user you've logged into is not a Super user then you will need to be sure to grant them permission to the TRCADDON permission set inside of Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Search: Users

Select: Users (Administration)

Open: The desired User Card

Add: TRCADDON under the User Permission Sets section

If you continue to have issues - it is recommended that you log into the Integration Settings using a Super User to eliminate permission set issues.

If a Super User works but not a standard user - you will need to reach out to your System Administrator or VAR

Solution - Set the Company Under Permission Sets

If you're utilizing Multiple Companies within Dynamics 365 Business Central you will need to ensure that the TRCADDON permission set for the user is set for the appropriate company under that user.

Search: Users

Select: Users (Administration)

Open: The desired User Card

Set: The Company for the TRCADDON permission set.
