Sometimes you may need to update a Translation Object or import a new one in order to receive updates for your Gentran template.

Translation Objects


Opening Translation Objects

Navigate: View → Translation Objects

Alt Navigate: Select the yellow-papered icon on the toolbar (highlighted in blue)

Importing Translation Objects

Whether you need to update an existing template, or import a new one - you'll want to select the New icon and find the Template (.tpl) file provided to you.

Navigate: New → (Find your template (.tpl) file) → Open

Note: If the template was previously imported - it will ask you if you'd like to overwrite select yes to update an existing template

Setting the Translation Object


In order to use your new template, you'll need to make sure it's actively set within your Transaction Set.

Note: Based on your needs, you may need to select Inbound/Outbound depending on the direction your transaction is going

Navigate: Partners → Inbound/Outbound (based on need) → Translation

Inbound Options:

Turn Around: For Inbound transaction that you wish to use to generate an Outbound transaction automatically completely within Gentran

Export File: For Inbound transactions you wish to have sent directly to your ERP

Print: For transactions you wish to have Gentran print a display report for

Outbound Options:

Import: For any Outbound files you import from your ERP

Print: For displayed prints

Data Entry: For modifiable versions of the transaction within your Workspace
