Product: Mapping Manager

While both types of turnarounds accomplish the same thing when copying data from one transaction to another, they accomplish it using very different methods. The turnaround logic utilized when using a Partner to Partner Turnaround map actually employs similar logic to that of an Import. Because of this, some features of the turnaround are different.

Item Translation

For Item Translation to work, both the Source and Destination transactions must be alerted to the item by entering the Primary Item and Item Translation values in the Source and Destination Item Translation tables. The Item Translation value must match in both Item Translation tables for the translation to occur.

Auto-Packing

Native Turnarounds can automatically create and populate the appropriate number of packs when turning around item loops. Auto Pack settings are defined in the Item Translation table entries for each item. Turnarounds using Partner to Partner Turnaround maps do not have any auto-packing capability.

Address Translations

Native Turnarounds can handle Address Translations for any set of Address tokens as long as they are configured correctly in the Electronic Partner Plug-in (EPP). Since Partner to Partner Turnaround maps rely on Import logic, they can only handle address translations for store and Distribution Center (DC) addresses.

An EPP is a TrueCommerce software module that "maps" or arranges the data structure of EDI transactions as required to automate exchanging data with a trading partner's EDI system. The EPP tells the TrueCommerce system which transactions are supported by a particular trading partner, how the data should be formatted, and what data is required on transactions that are sent to the trading partner. Each EPP is for a specific trading partner and includes the data mappings for all transactions that are required by the trading partner.
