By Default, your Nexternal order management system (OMS) is accessible only from the US and Canada. Users will not be able to log in from any other country, even if they are using the correct username and password, unless you open access while you are in the US or Canada. So if you are going to travel, or if you have consultants or employees in other countries who need temporary or long-term access to your OMS, you will need to open access to those countries.
To unlock your OMS from other countries before you leave the US or Canada, go to Settings/Anti Fraud and Security, and scroll to the specific country(ies) to which you would like to "allow" access for the OMS (or the online store), and use the pulldowns. For best results, we recommend you follow the steps in the Guided Tutorial called "Set OMS & Store Access from Other Countries". (Guided Tutorials are accessed separately from the Support Center in Foundry, through the link to Guided Tutorials in the system navigation under the question mark at the top. In the legacy standalone version of Nexternal they can be accessed through the Guided Tutorials link in the left navigation.)
โ
This can be done only by Users with Administrator user access and for security reasons, cannot be performed by a TrueCommerce/Nexternal employee. If you are leaving the country and require access while away, please remember to set allowed access before you leave the country, for all places from which you will require access, including layover countries. If you forget, you will need to contact another User with administrator access to do it for you. If there is no other Administrator, you will have to wait to get back to the US or Canada to access your OMS.
โ
Important Notes:
Please note, for security reasons we strongly recommend that you never access your OMS while on public wifi.
If you have opened up OMS access from additional countries to accommodate your travel, be sure to lock down those countries when you return.
If you have opened up OMS access from other countries because you have employees or contractors there, please note that if they have static IP addresses or IP Addresses within a definable range, you can lock down those countries and simply enter IP overrides for their IP addresses or address ranges. To do this, go back through the countries and set the OMS column to DENY. Then follow the Nexternal Guided Tutorial called "Set IP overrides for OMS access". (Guided Tutorials are accessed separately from the Support Center in Foundry, through the link to Guided Tutorials in the system navigation under the question mark at the top. In the legacy standalone version of Nexternal they can be accessed through the Guided Tutorials link in the left navigation.)
