Product: Transaction Manager

Transaction Maps are interactive UI forms that allow Transaction Manager to dynamically map the Raw EDI used for transferring data between you and your Trading Partner with a user-friendly display that can be edited like a standard form.

The Templates section allow you to configure Outbound Transactions to have default static values that can either work as a fallback option or a always present static value.

Accessing Templates

You can modify your Transaction Templates by locating the desired Transaction Type within your Trading Partner settings and selecting the Template button within the blue action bar.

Navigate: Trading Partners β†’ (Partner) β†’ Preferences β†’ Transactions

Select: Desired Transaction Type

Select: Template

Only Outbound Transactions Can have Templates Applied as Inbound ones only display data sent from your Trading Partner

Modifying a Template

Once you've selected the Template button Transaction Manager will bring up the same form as you would normally see for any particular Transaction of this type. You can enter or modify any field to set a Default Value that will be applied if no other override is found.

In this form you can set free-forms, dropdowns, or decimal fields as needed to have Transaction Manager automatically populate that field upon creation whether through Turn Around, an Import, or Manual Creation.

Red Fields

Red Fields are fields that are marked as Required by your Trading Partner. Unlike in a live Transaction View however they will continue to stay red after templating a value to help indicate this is a required field on the form.

Mark Fields Required (Yellow Fields)

If your Trading Partner or your Business Process requires a particular field to always have a value that is not marked as required by the Transaction Map itself, you can select the field you wish to mark as Mandatory and hit Mark Field Required in the blue action bar. This will turn the field Yellow to indicate it's a required field marked by you

You can undo this by selecting Mark Field Not Required.

You cannot mark the Red Fields determined by your Trading Partner as not required. Transaction Manager honors the requirements that the Trading Partner sets

Data Overrides

Any field filled out with data inside the Template is subject to be overwritten by either the Integration Mapping or a particular Transaction Type's auto-calculations.

Integration Mapping

If a field is configured to pull data from your Business System or Flat-File then Transaction Manager will automatically overwrite any data located in your Template with this value.

Auto-Calculations

If a field you set has been configured to perform an Automatic Calculation (Auto-Calc) such as the Totals field or the Subtotal field then Transaction Manager will overwrite any default value you've entered into the Template with the calculated value.

Templates are used as the last-resort value and will only appear if no other portion of the system is attempting to fill a value into this field
