Product: SAP Business One

Auto-Pack is a TrueCommerce add-on feature that automatically creates package records on an SAP Business One Delivery based on item setup and shipping configuration — saving time compared to manually defining packages in the Packing Slip.

SAP Business One supports three Auto-Pack types: Pure Carton, Mixed Carton, and Drop-Ship. The correct option depends on how your order is being shipped and how items have been configured in SAP Business One and the TrueCommerce add-on.

Auto-Pack Type

Best For

Requires

Pure Carton

Shipments where each carton contains one item type

Item Master Data package quantity setup

Mixed Carton

Shipments where cartons contain multiple item types

An Auto-Pack Template with the applicable items

Drop-Ship

Simple shipments where all items ship in one container

No additional setup required

Pure Carton

Pure Carton packs items individually based on how many units fit in each package type. This option is best used when each carton in your shipment contains only one item type.

Before using Pure Carton, item package quantities must be defined in Item Master Data.

Navigate: Inventory → Item Master Data → (Item) → TrueCommerce tab

Set: Package quantities per package type

Once item setup is confirmed, run Auto-Pack from the Delivery:

Navigate: Sales A/R → Deliveries → (Delivery) → TrueCommerce tab

Set: Auto-Pack Type to Pure Carton

Select: Pure Carton Package Type

Click: Auto-Pack

Review: Packing Slip to confirm the generated packages and contents

If an item does not pack automatically, verify that package quantity settings have been configured on the Item Master Data TrueCommerce tab for that item.

Mixed Carton

Mixed Carton creates packages based on a predefined Auto-Pack Template that defines which items and quantities belong together in a single carton. This option is best used when multiple item types ship together in the same package.

Before using Mixed Carton, confirm that an Auto-Pack Template exists and includes all items on the Delivery.

Navigate: Sales A/R → Deliveries → (Delivery) → TrueCommerce tab

Set: Auto-Pack Type to Mixed Carton

Select: Auto-Pack Template

Click: Auto-Pack

Review: Packing Slip to confirm package contents after processing

Drop-Ship

Drop-Ship creates a single package for the entire Delivery, placing all items into one container. No additional template or item quantity setup is required.

Navigate: Sales A/R → Deliveries → (Delivery) → TrueCommerce tab

Set: Auto-Pack Type to Drop-Ship

Click: Auto-Pack

Confirm: One package was created and review the Packing Slip before printing labels
